Recently, I started practicing touch typing again, but this time with a custom ergonomic finger-key mapping I researched and came up with myself. I ended up spending around thirty-five hours over the course of a month, and now my speed and accuracy are recovered back to north of 56WPM with about 95% accuracy. I was genuinely surprised, like, “Oh my God, yes! I can still learn new things, get better with practice, and actually achieve something.” It hit me that I’m still very much human, just over twenty years on this planet, and I need to appreciate that. I need to believe that I can learn new things at any time. I don’t have to be scared or judge myself solely by what I’m capable of right now. What defines me isn’t just what I can do at this moment, but what I’m still capable of becoming, at least until I’m sixty-seven. 6-7
